Deacon Ministry Team Program

God has blessed and continues to bless our church in a miraculous way. As a result of our remarkable growth, our ministers and deacons can easily become overwhelmed, so we adopted the "team" approach. This enables us to be more effective in ministering to all those God is bringing into our family.

The purpose of the team approach is threefold:

  1. To minister the love of Christ to those who are in need.
  2. To get as many church member as possible involved. Church members may sign up in areas where they feel gifted or interested. The team approach will involve many more people in ministry, which is our goal. Deacons will captain or co-captain teams in their area of interest or giftedness.
  3. Our third purpose is to relieve deacons from trying to minister ineffectively to 20 or 30 families.

Here are our teams:

Evangelism/Discipleship-The focus of this team is two-fold: (1) evangelistic efforts to bring more people to Christ, and (2) events/activities for the purpose of promoting Christian growth in the body of believers. This team ministers through Christian literature/books/materials, discipleship classes, Welcome Center, guest speakers, communication with new members, and church-wide initiatives.

Families-This team ministers to and counsels families in crisis. Examples may include: divorce, separation, rebellious children, parental problems and financial problems.

Grief-This team ministers to people who have lost a loved one through visits, calls, cards, etc.

Hospitality-This team is responsible for activities that revolve around building relationships. This includes (in conjunction with Sunday School classes) providing meals for families dealing with sickness/following births, sending cards to church members and others, coordinating New Member banquets, etc.

Senior Adults-This team ministers to Senior Adult needs. This may include transportation to church or grocery, repairs around the house or car maintenance.

Singles-This team ministers to singles of all ages. This may include young adults who have never been married or single again through divorce or a death.

Visitation-This team ministers through personal visits to hospitals, shut-ins, nursing homes and those who have attended Forks.

Join a team by signing up at the Welcome Center.
